This study group was started in connection with the publication of the 'Tale of Genji' held by the General Library of the University of Tokyo. If the publication of the 'Tale of Genji' held by the General Library of the University of Tokyo is the 'Omote (front) Genji,' then our efforts to explore its various possibilities are called the 'Ura (behind the scenes) Genji Study Group.'
